Jason DeMarco earned a bachelor’s of arts degree in film/video production from the Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, GA. Jason's Twitter handle is @Clarknova1 and also goes by Space Knight DeMarco (formerly Lich King DeMarco).

DeMarco began his tenure at Cartoon Network by co-creating Toonami with Sean Akins, then as a senior writer/producer for Toonami, writing and producing packaging and on-air promos for the programming block. Prior to this, he rose as a production assistant to an associate producer at TNT, where he wrote and produced on-air packaging and promos supporting both original and syndicated films and television series.

As associate creative director for Toonami/Miguzi –two of Cartoon Network’s premier animated action-adventure blocks–DeMarco was critical to the development of signature on-air packaging for shows such as Dragon Ball Z and Sailor Moon that helped established Cartoon Network’s on-air look and feel, and won multiple design awards in the process.

As creative director of sales promotions for Cartoon Network and Adult Swim, he was responsible for developing compelling and innovative national advertiser promotional programs and sponsorships across multiple platforms. Producing more than 150 projects per year, he oversaw the creative development and execution of promotions marketing efforts across the linear networks, video-on-demand, CartoonNetwork.com and AdultSwim.com.

In 2008, DeMarco founded Adult Swim’s Williams Street Records, where he served as the primary A&R (Artist and Repertoire) contact, creating original music albums, as well as successful programs like the Adult Swim Singles Program, supporting on-air series and delivering one of a kind creative partnership solutions for key ad sales clients.

In 2012, DeMarco was promoted to vice president of strategic marketing and promotions for Cartoon Network and Adult Swim. In his new role, DeMarco was responsible for developing promotional marketing programs that extended each network’s reach, visibility and brand messaging both on and off-channel. Additionally, he oversaw the development and execution of customized integrated promotions and sponsorships that drove revenues for Cartoon Network and Adult Swim’s sales and marketing efforts. DeMarco’s responsibilities also included supervising all aspects of AYAKM special events and trade marketing activity, including the Cartoon Network and Adult Swim Advertising Upfront programs.

In 2013, DeMarco was promoted to vice president and creative director for on-air at Adult Swim. He reported directly to Mike Lazzo, the executive VP and creative director for Adult Swim. In his post, DeMarco was responsible for leading the creative direction, development and implementation of all areas of on-air communication, promotion, packaging and sponsorships. He also oversaw the internal structure of the on air and the sales promotion creative and production departments, working closely with the Adult Swim marketing team.

In 2021, DeMarco took on a newly expanded role at Warner Bros. (parent company of CN/AS) as the Senior Vice President Anime & Action Series/Longform for Warner Bros Animation (WBA) and Cartoon Network Studios (CNS). In his newly created dual role, DeMarco will spearhead WBA and CNS’ expansion into producing anime content. He also will be responsible for identifying and developing projects in the animated action genre to develop and produce series and longform programming for all audiences. He will also continue in his role at Adult Swim and Toonami.[1]
