Can and Should Gurren Laggan air?

Is it likely that Toonami will get the rights to Gurren Laggan? Toonami mentioned a desire to get more Gainax programming, and considering that Gurren Laggan is the most recent action show I am aware Gainax has made (They have said on tumbler they have no interest in Panty and Stocking), but I think it was on T.V previously, so does that affect airing possibilities?
